Considering the magnitude of participation by skilled nursing facilities in bundled payment arrangements and available data, we have an opportunity to look retrospectively at what has worked well in bundled arrangements and what areas may require improvement.  Using this information and “lessons learned” from participation, SNF providers can look to the future of health care delivery with a more positive outlook for success.
This training program will review the background and rationale behind bundled payments.  Using available data, this session provides lessons learned from the initiative and strategies and tactics for participating in bundled payment initiatives.

March 2, 2016:  Interdisciplinary Approach to Continence Improvement

All health care disciplines have a role in skilled intervention to treat continence.  This webinar provides an overview of anatomy and physiology of normal voiding as well as normal function related to continence.  Different types of incontinence are identified and assessment/treatment strategies are offered for each.  This course takes an interdisciplinary approach to continence improvement and demonstrates roles of each team member.  Emphasis is placed on the role of nursing in completing an assessment of voiding, identifying triggers and bladder stimulants, voiding habits and patterns, and implementing individualized care approaches.  Restorative and compensatory strategies for continence management are reviewed as well as the unique role of physical/occupational therapy in this program.  Documentation and care planning related to behavioral aspects of continence improvement are reviewed.
